Finlos Asks – Hanoch Schmalbach

Finlos Asks is a show about how people live and grow amidst impermanence. Interviews feature people who have encountered cultural shifts and life changes and explore how they have endured and flourished in life’s constant changes.

My guest for this episode is Hanoch Schmalbach, a friend that I have known since the 9th grade. For as long as I have known him Hanoch has resisted definition or categorization for most aspects of his life. Whether this is by choice or just inherent to his Aquarius nature, I (or he) may never know. What I do know is that Hanoch is an artist, an actor, a photographer, a musician, a fish farmer, an electrician, and a teacher of young children, sometimes all at the same time. This is part of a conversation we had a few months back where we discussed the influences of trauma and culture on his parents.
